Should children have to wear school uniform?

Pupils at Crynallt are debating whether children should have to wear uniform in school. Some children think that uniform is reasonable and has a purpose in school. On the other hand, others think that it has no purpose on our learning and it is uncomfortable to move in.

If we wear uniform, teachers will be able to tell which children belong to their school.School uniform will represent which school their from.In addition, pupils could get lost when they arrive at their school trip destination, they could blend in with the public. Also,School uniform is usually easier for families to shop for, children may not know what clothes they would like or what their allowed. Parents would find it easier to shop for uniform, research by market analysts mintel suggests that British parents spend about £230 per pupil.Evidence shows that in 2020 children spend £70-£160 on uniform.Children will also save time in the mornings, children will not have to decide what to wear so it will be easier to wear uniform.

On the other hand, School uniform limits personal expression, the U.S supreme court ruled in 1969, either students or teachers have the rights of freedom, speech and expression at the school gate. Also, children dont feel comfortable in uniform. Some kids are sensitive to certain materials while others are the opposite to buttons, zippers and restrictive clothing.Plus, uniform can be expensive to shop for, the website CosthelperEducation reports that a full wardrobe of uniforms can cost around £100-£600.

To conclude, some pupils think that uniform is reasonable and it will help our education. On the other hand, other pupils think that it is unnecessary and it doesnt effect our education if we dont wear it. I think that uniform is necessary because i think it will save time in the mornings and it will be easier for my parents to buy.
