There are eight planets. Some are big and some are small. Jupiter is the largest planet. It's the most far away from the sun. The most famous feature on Jupiter is the great red spot, a giant storm that is wider than planet Earth. It was first noticed in 1664 by Robert Hooke, and scientists have been watching it on and off ever since. The storm is in fact a giant hurricane, which spins counterclockwise. It takes six days for the great red spot to spin around once. Inside Jupiter: At the very center of Jupiter is a tiny solid core, crushed very tightly together by the weight of the planet all around it. The core is mostly made of rock and of metal.

No one lives on Jupiter.
