Haiku are short Japanese poems that are three lines long. The lines follow a syllable pattern: the first line has 5 syllables, the second has 7, and the last one has 5 again.

Here are some haiku I made about the northern lights.

Gleaming, sublime light

Dancing across the night sky

In awe at the sight.

Curtain in the sky

Kaleidoscopic, bright light

Bewitching my eyes.

The great northern lights

Aurora borealis

An amazing sight.

In a snowy land

Multicoloured flowing hue

Lovely thing to see.

ART:

For my art about the aurora I used an old tooth brush to flick white paint onto black card. Then I ripped an old piece of paper and put chalk on it, then rubbed it off to make the aurora. Then I drew snowy mountains and to make the water I did some more aurora patterns for reflections and put some trees on and their reflections.
