As only a decade old, I really don't have many memories in the past. Nevertheless, I do remember some Ramadan iftars from many years ago. My mother cooks traditional food: canjeero (a type of pancake), samosas and lentil soup. All of our family and friends would gather to break their fast at Maghrib (sunset prayer).

If you don't know what Ramadan is, let me tell you. Ramadan is a holy month in the Islamic Calendar. It is a time where Muslims fast from dawn till dusk for a month. Furthermore, it reminds us Muslims what it feels like to not have any food or drink for the unfortunate countries: Syria, Somalia, Iraq and many more. Before Fajr ( sunrise prayer), Muslims who are fasting have Suhoor to make them not feel hungry in the day. At Maghrib, Muslims break their fast with 1-3 dates with a cup of water before eating anything else. Muslims read a dua (prayer): Allahumma inni laka sumtu, wa bika aamantu, wa alayka tawakkaltu, wa alaa riz-qi-ka af-tar-tu. Dhahabadh dhama-u wabtallatil urooqu. wa tha-batal ajru inshallah: Oh Allah! I have fasted for You and I believe in You and I put my trust in You and I break my fast with Your sustenance. The thirst has gone and the veins quenched and reward is confirmed if Allah wills.

My religion is Islam and I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad (PBUH) is His Messenger.

That is all the information I have about my beautiful parents, Amal and Tahliil. Furthermore, my parents were married on January 25th 2001; therefore, they have been married for nearly 17 years.

Let's talk about the country I'm from. I'm from Somalia, a country in east Africa, which is near the equator, causing Somalia to be very humid. If you already know, Somalia is a country with the poverty level at 73%.

If you've wonder how Somali language is written, I will give you the answer. Magaceyga waa Orala. Waxaan ku hadlaa Somali. Waxaan ahay toban jir. Translation: My name is Orala. I speak Somali. I am ten years old.

This is not all I know how to speak. I am actually fluent in Somali; therefore, I can speak to my elder relatives if they don't speak English. However, my parents have lived in the U.K for such a long time, they do speak and understand English.
