Understanding Algorithms Programming, coding and control

Skills
Solve open ended problems with the screen turtle in j2code.
Design, write and run executable programs using the visual programming language in j2code.
Be able to debug an algorithm (set of instructions) and correct any errors using either the visual or logo programming language in j2code.
Use repetition in programs to make them more efficient, either using the visual or logo programming language in j2code.
Be able to explore the effect of changing variables in j2code. Use them to make and test predictions.

Using j2e5 select specific areas of a painting using the crop facility and copy and paste to make repeating patterns. Investigate symmetry and reflection.
Using j2camera capture, store, manipulate and share a digital image.
Using j2e5 share a series of photos on a page to evaluate the quality of their own and others' captured images.

Using j2e5 create a simple storyboard to communicate a specific idea.

Understand that a digital image can be captured from a number of different devices and it can be stored, developed and enhanced.

Collaborate with others using j2e5 on a Science project or investigation, exchanging ideas and trying suggestions from others.
Other Subjects
Using j2bloggy or j2webby, set up a link with a foreign school. Publish views from their window with additional details about your school using j2e5. Receive comments from the partner school.
Using j2bloggy or j2webby, use the comment facility to allow an 'expert' to add additional value to contributions pupils have made to a project or piece of work.
Pupils should contribute to a class discussion using the comments on j2bloggy.
Collate information using j2e5 and then publish to j2bloggy, to create an aspect of their e-portfolio.
Contribute to a group using j2e5 to pull together information, text and images for presentation of a topic.
