The Revenge of Thomas Barkley.
In the old days when everything was beautiful and all was peaceful and quiet, in the days when the trees and grass smelt like cherry blossoms, all were happy. Until evil, selfish, heartless, mean Seth took over the land. All the animals and people dropped their heads with a miserable look on their faces as unkind Seth gave them orders. But one day a young man was born and he took the name of Thomas Barkley. Thomas Barkley absolutely hated Seth. Seth treated Thomas’ parents disgustingly - he captured them, turned them into hard working slaves and kept them in his damp, old castle. So Thomas wanted revenge and to free his parents.
Thomas was getting fed up with this whole dramatic thing. So listen carefully because this is what he did…
It was a cold night and Thomas sat by the hot, fiery fire with his head focused on what he was doing. His thoughts were whizzing round his head like mad. Then one idea stopped as all fell deeply silent. That thought lit up like the blazing sun. The sun rose and Thomas was zooming round the house packing for the great adventure.
At noon Thomas set for Seth’s castle. To get there he needed to cross the Okatutu River. Water flew down the Okatutu River. At a distance, Thomas spotted a line of rocks leading from one side to the other. Very carefully, Thomas stepped across the narrow rocks. His brave face was looking up not down. Finally, Thomas made it across the rocks. “Phew”, said Thomas. When Thomas looked in front of him Seth’s castle met his eyes. Thomas took some slight steps back while keeping his eyes on the castle. It looked so much more terrifying than he had imagined. “This is not as good as I thought” said Thomas. “But I still have to do it “. So he walked face forward to the castle. Then he knocked on the door and said “pizza delivery”. All the servants came rushing out when they heard the word pizza. But they didn’t see anybody. So they looked by the river. After they had gone Thomas jumped into the ancient castle. The castle was damp, smelly, almost deserted. It was a foul old castle with not very happy people. The castle looked miserable. But Thomas just had to get revenge and free his parents. So Thomas wandered around the castle to find the dungeons where his parents were kept and where he would put Seth after capturing him. That was his plan.
He found his parents and together they first set out to capture all of Seth’s servants and soldiers. Doing that was a real challenge. They decided to split up so that they could capture the servants more quickly. They thought that they would capture the servants first because they were unarmed. After that, they captured the soldiers as a team because they were armed. They used lassos to tie them up. Now nobody was in their way of capturing disgusting Seth who treated everyone very unfairly. They began to search for the throne room. They found a gigantic door which they thought must have been the throne room. Mr Barkley stepped up bravely and threw little knocks on the enormous door. A deep, loud, scary voice boomed “who is it”.
“Your servants to bring you pizza” lied Mr Barkley.
“Ooh come in, come in” cried Seth. Thomas kicked open the door and said, “Surprise, surprise.”
“Guards come quickly” shouted Seth.
“I don’t think so” said Mrs Barkley “we captured them all and now were going to capture you”
“No” but Thomas tied him up before he could even finish his sentence. Then Thomas threw Seth down into the dungeon like a javelin.
From then on everybody again lived quietly, happily and in peace.
