School Council Meeting - 4.2.15

In our School Council meeting today, we were joined by Rachel from Caterlink who provide our school meals. Rachel led a discussion on what we enjoyed on the menu and what we maybe would like to change.

Representatives from each class shared their thoughts. The children voted that their favourite meal on the menu was spaghetti and that they did not really like the salmon fish fingers. Rachel then asked us, what we would like to see on the menu and we discussed if these were apporipate healthy options or for special occasions or theme days. Miss Scrase asked the School Council if we would like a jacket potato day and the vote was unanimous.

After a discussion about the menu, we then looked at the

menu options for the Chinese New Year lunch next

Wednesday and also the Shrove Tuesday pancake lunch

after half-term. The children then discussed decorations

and Miss Scrase said that she was going to buy some red

table decorations and maybe everybody could make a

Chinese Lantern.

We finished our meeting by discussing how to promote a healthy packed lunch at Holy Trinity. Children came up with a variety of ideas from a poster or leaflet competition to a display in the school hall. Shinayd then suggested that we could make an advert or film promoting being healthy and what to put in your lunchbox so watch this space for the School Council's first film!

How do you think we could promote healthy packed lunches at Holy Trinity?
