DAWN FRASER


1956: She swam for Australia in the Melbourne Olympic Games and won two gold medals.


1961: Dawn's father died but she continued to work hard to improve her swimming.


1964: While she was driving her mother and sister home she hit a lorry. Her mother died in the crash and Dawn injured her back. She was in hospital for nine weeks and she was very sad but nothing stopped her. Soon she started swimming again. She swam for Australia in the Tokyo Olympics and won another gold medal.
