In 1914 the Great War started. It was known as the Great War because no one knew there was going to be another war. This war went on for 4 years and ended in 1918.

The world had been split into two sides; The Central Powers and The Allies.

The Allies were lead by Britain, France and Russia and they were known as the Triple Entente.

The Central Powers were lead by Germany, Austria-Hungary and Bulgaria and they were known as the triple Alliance.
