Growing Plants
Friday 10th May

This week we have been finding out about plants. We investigated seeds and used our imaginations to draw what we thought a mystery seed would turn into. We made seed packets with instructions on them to make the seed germinate. We have to plant the seeds at home to see if our pictures were right! On Wednesday we labelled the parts of a plant with Mrs Ross. We have drawn plants from observation and worked outside to investigate plants in our school environment. We have even planted our own beans and will be photographing them as they grow.

In Numeracy we have been practising our 5 times table. If you still need some more work on this don't forget to work on it at home! We have also really enjoyed learning about ordinal numbers and designed our own activity outside to help us use them. We invented races and awarded medals to the different children who took part.

Look at these different plants. What can you see? Where do you think they are growing?
Here are some examples of our outdoor learning.
Our mystery seeds.
Have you planted yours yet? What has hapened to it?
What have you enjoyed this week? Have you learned anything new? Can you bring in anything from home that is linked to our learning?
