Mary 1st

On the 18th of February 1516, glorious Mary 1st was born a the palace of Placentia in Greenwich- Located in London-, then died on the 17th November 1558 at the city of Westminster. Mary's parents were King Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Catherine was born on the 16th of December 1485, then died on the 17th of January 1535. A while later Henry was born on the 28th of June 1491, and died on the 28th of January 1547. Mary Tudor was the only child of King Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon to survive into adulthood.

Mary was baptised as Catholic shortly after her birth. Tutored by Catherine of Aragon ( her mother ) and scholars, she excelled in music and language. She burnt 300 people and was able to speak Spanish, French, Latin and English.

Mary 1st was the first Queen for England and Ireland, and took Lady Jane Grey off of the throne when she was 37 years of age. In 1525, Henry named Mary his Princess of Wales and had sent his daughter to live on the Welsh border, while he continuously tried to negotiate a marriage for her.
