Wonder Book review

Title: Wonder

Author: R.J. Palacio

Summary:

This book is about a boy who has a facial disfigurement and he begins to go to school but there are some things he has to get past. August Pullman has just begun Beecher prep school, so far he has met a girl named Charlotte and two boys, one named Jack Will, the other Julian. Jack has been hanging out with August, as for the other two, Charlotte has her own brainiac crowd and Julian has got his gang. He makes new friends in this time and one is Summer, she first talks to him because she feels sorry for him but after she got to know him, she liked him for who he was. August makes his way through the first year of school taking obstacles, that are in his way, in his stride. This is a story to show love and that being different is good because nobody wants to be the same as everyone else.

Favourite part:

My favourite part was at the very end when August gets his award and everyone is applauding for him and he finally feels a part of something but at the same time he is also different in a special way that no one else could be, as he is unique.

What could be improved:

This is one of my favourite books, not only because of August Pullman and the amazing story, it's because of the meaning behind it as it shows a great deal of love, being proud of who you are and not being afraid to be different. I don't think i would change anything about this book because its really amazing and it's also not really about the story itself, (even though the story is amazing) it's more about the meaning behind it.

Rating:

I would rate this book 5 stars because it is amazing and it can really teach you a lesson. Even before I read it I thought it was going to be an amazing book as on the front cover there is the saying, 'You can't blend in when you were born to stand out.' I thought this is amazing because after reading this it really relates to the story.
