There was once a boy called Harry. He was a young boy, but from the age of two, he had developed a love for space. Comets, black holes, eclipses, you name it, he knew it. Harry was disliked for this love for space, so he had never had any real friends. He theoried that in life, there is no priority to have friends, all you need is something to focus on. Harry found that this subject about space could occupy him for years and years, and he could hopefully make a career from all this studies.

One day, Harry woke up from bed and ran downstairs to collect the post. On his doormat, as usual, lay a pile of letters addressed to his parents. Harry flicked through each letter, every one of them stating ' Paul James' or 'Livi James'. He felt a slight wave of sadness as he came to the last bunch of letters, until he came across a particular leaflet emblazoned with comets and planets. He read it through thousands of times, his eyes widening in amazement. This leaflet was an admission for a science competition that would be held at Jerimiah Hall, his local parish centre. Harry rushed up the stairs and jumped on his parents' bed. "MUM! DAD! WAKE UP AND SIGN THIS LEAFLET FOR ME!" Harry yelled, thumping is feet on their soft mattress.

"Ok, ok, calm down Harry. We must grab some breakfast first. I'm doing poached eggs!" exclaimed his mother as his father began to put on his dressing gown.

As Harry walked down the stairs, his sister Storme emerged from her gloomy room. Her pale face and black makeup made her look like a vampire that had had a bad sleep. She groaned at the smell of eggs [she was a vegan] and drooped down the stairs like slime. As soon as she got into the kitchen, she popped a slice of vegan bread into the toaster and waited until it went black.

"Storme, darling, why don't you pop that toast? I think that burnt toast produces a chemical that can really harm you." said Harry's mum in a worried voice.

"I don't really care. I will live the rest of my life, at least." groaned Storme.

After Harry had bolted down his breakfast, his dad signed the leaflet that he had found. He ran up to his room and began his competition entry. He needed ideas, so he decided to walk down to the local library and borrow a loan of books. The library knew Harry very well, as he visited them every day after school.

As he arrived at the library, Harry was greeted by Maria, the library's membership club leader. Her short brown hair bounced above her shoulders and her black, round glasses displayed her sky blue eyes.

"Hello, Harry. Would you like me to guide you to our new books section? We've just got a new stock of science project books. They look so amazing!" smiled Maria, pushing her glasses further up her nose.

"Oh, that would be great, Maria! I'm entering a science competition and these will be a great help." said Harry with enthusiasm.

Maria guided Harry over to the section of new books that was around the corner... or was supposed to be.

"Oh my! All the books are... GONE!" gasped Maria. Harry stared blankly ahead. His only hope had drifted away into the distance...
