Q1 Approximately how long have you been a teacher at St George's?

A: Over 30 years

Q2 Do you enjoy being a teacher? Why?

A: I absolutely enjoy being a teacher, as everyone knows at school, and I love it because children are interesting, they are never boring, they always surprise me , they are loyal and affectionate and they have a wonderful yearning to learn about the world that they live in, and it's that awe and wonder that makes teaching so exciting.

Q3 What standard of work do you expect from the children at St George's?

A:Well we always strive to encourage every child to achieve their own standard so it doesn't matter about what the other children are doing, it's about that particular child excelling themselves.

Q4 What is your favourite house team?

A: I don't have a favourite, but because of my name, I support St. Therese's and I just think it's a bit of fun. I don't take it to seriously.

Q5 What year group has been your favourite to teach?

A: I am thoroughly enjoying the change of being in year 4 and it's difficult to choose a particular year group because I got stuck in year 6 for 20 years and just having a change is really important and I love the new curriculum and I enjoy planning the literacy and RE and other lessons as well. I think each year group has it's own, unique experience to offer so, for example, year 6 was always fun to go on school journeys even though it was exhausting it was always fun and it was lovely watching the children grow because in year 6 they really develop into young men and women ready to move onto High School, so it's lovely to see them grow, but in year 4 it's just kind of fun and you still have that love of learning.

Q6 What job did you want to do as a child?

A: I wanted to be an astronaut.

Q7 What was your favourite sweet as a child?

A: Ooh, that's a hard one. I just love chocolate, anything that is chocolate and nutty so like M&Ms and chocolate peanuts.

Q8 What game did you enjoy playing as a child? Why?

A: I used to like playing, well in this country we call it drafts, but in America we call it checkers and I used to enjoy the game because if it required strategies and you had to anticipate moves and if you got across to the other side of the board you get to king your checker, which meant you can go backwards and forwards, so that was the challenge. I used to play that for hours with my brother.

Q9 Do you have a pet if not what pet would you like to have, if yes what pet is it and what’s its name?

A: In my lifetime I've had many pets but I don't at the moment but if I could, and I wasn't working full time, I would like to have a dog because they are very loyal animals and they're lots of fun and it would make me go out and do some exercise.

Q10 Do you have any favourite sports teams if so what are they?

A: Not really, not anymore. I used to years ago but I'm getting a bit past it now.

Q11   What is your lucky number?

A: I'm going to say 3 because that's the day of my birthday but I'm not really aware of having a lucky number.
