This term, year 5 have been doing something called microsociety. In it, you build your own town and make your own business. To begin with, we listened to a story about a town called Justenuff where the people have everything they could ever want. They get everything they need from a very clever computer and when it breaks, things don't go to plan. The town has to use it's limited resources to try and make a solution to fix it. In our class, we had to decide on how they should divide their resources. We decided on younger and older people should get more stuff and then the women.

In our first lesson, we played a shape game. We had to work as a group to try and make as many shapes as

we could using the stuff we were given. My group weren't given any paper and I was the one that

out that we could trade. We got paper and tried as hard as we could but we only managed to get

5 points. :( At least we tried, though. At least we tried.

In our next part of the first lesson, we made our societies (towns) flag. We were each given a piece of paper that we drew our design on. It had to somehow link to our name. My class's name is Sharganda. I drew a moon, to represent space, 30 stars to represent the children and 4 lines to represent the classes in year 5. We haven't chosen a flag yet but fingers crossed that it's mine! That's all we've done so far but I think it will be fun.
