Victorian children at school

Last week all of year4 went to Beaumanor hall.
First the madam checked our hands and nail to see if they ware clean.
Then we went in to the class room and we said a prayer then sat down with our hands on the desk we ware separated from the boys on one side were girls and on the other side were the boys.
After that we learnt the alphabet (forward and in reverse).
Next we did copper plate handwriting we didnt use a pencil we used a ink pen they ware only for
right hand people but the children who ware left hand still had to use it.
Then we learnt our 2 time table on a slate a girl got 9x2 wrong she had to stand in the corner
with a dunce cap on.
After that we learnt the Queen and King of Great Britain.
Then we learnt about the money £ s p d. Finally we did a good bye prayer.
