We have loved listening to the traditional tale of 'The Gingerbread Man'. The children have fully engaged in the bakery role play this week, baking cakes and gingerbread for their friends and teachers. The playdough has been very popular, the children have been using the rolling pins and cutters to create the characters from the story. The children enjoyed putting buttons on the Gingerbread People and counting how many they had. They then found the numeral to match the quantity of buttons. We also enjoyed finding out what happened to the Gingerbread Men when they fell in the water!
