The Race

Twenty years ago, Walter Andrews travelled to Greenland and discovered a woolly mammoth.  Ten years after he found it he told his nephew Jacob Andrews about his discovery (the woolly mammoth). A decade went by and Jacob has become Prime Minister of England, and the Russian government hear that England have a big secret, which is the woolly mammoth, so they send a Russian spy into England.  Unfortunately the Russian spy, who’s name is Igor Popov, was employed in the UK government, so he heard about the woolly mammoth and reported back to Russias president Nicolas Wazowski. Fortunately, Jacob has family in Russia who know about it and see it on the news and they warn Jacob about it.  The race is on!

Because Jacob planned the expedition before the Russians, England have a five day lead as they begin the voyage on the 1st March and Russia starts on the 5th March.  Over the next five days England sail through the North Sea and out into the North Atlantic Ocean.  In the distance, through the fog emerges another ship that has their anchor down. As they get closer to the ship they notice that it is Russian because the Russian flag is hanging on the flag pole.  Tentatively the English ship approaches and radios the Russian ship to see what has happened.

“Why is your anchor down?” asked Jacob.

“We have run out of oil,” replied Nicolas.

“We can give you enough oil to get to Iceland where you can get more,” offered Jacob.

“Yes, we will take your offer,” thanked Nicolas.

“We shall bring it overbite you need to find a place level with the deck that has nothing in the way.” answered Jacob.

“Ok,” said Nicolas

While the Captain of the Russian ship turned the ship Jacob gets the bridge ready. Once Nicolas gave the signal to extend the bridge Jacob presses a red, shiny button and the bridge emerges from the deck.  Meanwhile, George - Jacob’s son and Jacob’s assistant - Ann are downstairs in the storage room loading barrels of oil onto a large wagon.  Jacob, George and Ann cross the bridge with the oil.  Nicolas and his daughter, Natalia are waiting to greet them. George and Natalia take the wagon and unload the barrels onto the Russian ship.  As they do so they fall instantly in love with each other.  After a brief conversation the English ride back to their ship on the bridge and retract it.  After they retract the bridge they go full steam ahead and the Russians take the barrels down to the engine room.
