Mount Vesuvius is in Italy. Mount Vesuvius is 1220 metres high. The nearby towns are Naples, Pompeii and Herculaneum and they got covered under ash and lava. It erupted in 24 August, AD 79. A man called Pliny wrote about the volcano when it erupted in AD 79.
