Our Isle Of Wight Trip!

So, as you all know, Beech class went on a trip to the Isle of Wight on 5th June 2017 for 4 nights and 5 days. I loved it there at Westbrook, which was where we were staying.

So on June 5th, everyone in Beech class

came to school with their suitcases and

we gave in our money to Mr Thoroughgood

which we were going to be spending while

we were at the Isle Of Wight.

After a few minutes, we got our suitcases, said

our goodbyes to parents and made our way outside

to get onto the coach. I sat next to Adheena

and we had a great time playing with the people in

front and behind us, and also LAUGHING and talking.

Finally, we arrived at the hovercraft place after a long journey and we gave our suitcases and bags to one of the staff, and we waited for our hovercraft to come. When it came, I was a bit nervous because I had never been on a hovercraft before - the ride on it was quite bumpy and some people felt sick, but overall I think it was fine. After a few minutes, we arrived in Portsmouth, we went on the coach again to Carisbrook Castle and had our lunch on the grass field near the castle. After we had our lucnch, we went inside the castle to explore and we split up into 3 groups. My group went to some bedrooms that were owned by the princesses and some important people living in the castle. When we finished exploring the whole castle we all met up together and then went to see the donkeys in the stables. First of all, we went to see Jill, who was by herself in one of the stables, and a lady told us about what Jill does in the stable, and also in front of us there was a huge well and the lady said that everyday Jill has to run on a wheel which makes the bucket at the bottom of the well collect water. When the lady finished talking, she went to take us to the other stables where the other donkeys called Jimbob and Jack were. Then we went to the gift shop and bought some things that we wanted with our own money. After the gift shop, it started to rain so we went back on the coach and made our way to Westbrook Centre which was where we were staying at. I was so excited because that was one of the things that I was looking forward to. When we finally arrived, we got off the coach and unloaded our suitcases and entered Westbrook Centre. We were greeted by one of the staff members and then we were lead into the living room, which was quite big to my surprise. Then the man told us about all the safety rules and in case of a fire what we had to do. After that Ms Farley assigned us our dorms and who we were going to be sharing a dorm with.

The first night was great, I shared a dorm with Jenny and Adheena and we slept well! On the first day at Westbrook, we got to explore the gardens outside and we had to make our lunches after we had our breakfast. In my opinion, I think the food is really nice at Westbrook. Especially the breakfasts and dinners. The next few days we had swimming, archery, bushcraft and many more fun activities. My favourite times is when we have free time, which is when Ms Farley lets us roam around (not exactly!) and we get to do whatever we want. I also liked it when we played lazer tag because it was so fun! Basically there were 2 teams: the red and yellow team. I was on the yellow team, and we all had to wear these helmets because inside them there were these censors and when you lazer someone then their helmet will constantly beep, and then you have to go to your adult leader to get back into the game. I loved playing lazer tag! And I loves my time at the Isle of Wight. I hope the year-sixes-to-be enjoy it too! I'm sure you will, because it will be one of your greatest memories you've ever had at All Saints.
