Rio
I have watched a very funny, musical and adventurous movie called Rio. In Brazil, unique exotic birds are smuggled out of the country during a festival. In Minnesota, a crate with a one-of-a-kind blue macaw is left behind and is found by a little girl, Linda, who names the bird Blu. Several years later, Blu who is unable to fly, is visited by Túlio who invites Blu and Linda back to Rio to save his species as he is the last male of his species.
Linda accepts and both she and Blu fly to Rio. At Túlio medicine home, Blu falls in love with Jewel, a confident blue macaw longing to flee into the forest where there’s music and everyone’s free. Both the macaws are captured by Fernando, an orphan and Nigel an evil bird, who lost his fame to his ugliness, both who work for a group of smugglers, whom Marcel, a selfish man, leads. However, Blu and Jewel manage to escape from the group of smugglers. Fernando meets Linda and Túlio and confesses he stole the birds and helps them to locate Blu. Mean while Blu and Jewel meet a Toucan called Rafael, who offers them to Luiz, a bulldog in the neighbourhood to remove the leg chain between Blu and Jewel. Fernando takes Linda and Túlio to the smugglers hideout, where they discover that the birds have already been moved out. Marcel, wanting to leave the country as soon as possible to secure a black market deal regarding Blu and Jewel, explains that he will use the Rio Carnival parade to smuggle the birds to the airport, as all the other streets have been blocked off for the festivities. Blu, thinking that his inability to fly will only be unhelpful to Jewel, argues with her, before going their separate ways. On her journey somewhere, Pedro and Nico witness Nigel capturing Jewel. When Blu and Rafael learn Nigel captured Jewel, they rush to the carnival to rescue her. Linda and Túlio spot the smuggler's parade float and plan a rescue for the birds.
On board, Blu destroys his cage using a fire hydrant and releases Jewel. Both the macaws release the captive birds, but Nigel injures Jewel. Blu sends Nigel flying into the plane engine using the now active fire hydrant, and the smugglers leave the plane. Unable to fly, Jewel falls out of the plane and towards the ocean. Jumping out of the plane to rescue Jewel, Blu finally discovers his ability to fly. In order to get Jewel back on her feet, Blu takes her to Linda and Túlio. Blu and Jewel raise three baby birds together and celebrate with their bird friends.
I loved and enjoyed this movie and would definitely rate it a 10/10!! This is mainly because its fast, fun, adventurous and I would recommend this movie to people aged 6 to even adults!!!
