Wednesday 8th July 2020

Morning Year 6 - I am out of school today so may not be able to respond to your blogs as quickly as I normally do.

Remember to record all of your written work in the orange exercise books (provided in your packs). Please write the date and any LOs given at the top of the page, and ensure that you are still following our All Souls presentation rules.

Timetable for the week:

White Rose Maths (Week 6 in your pack) - Convert metric measures (Summer Term Week 8 w/c 15th June - Lesson 3 on the White Rose website).

It is really important that you watch the online video first (see the video or use the link below to the PDF with all the video links attached for this week) and then complete the worksheet in your pack...

Boy in the Tower - today you will read Chapters Forty Seven, Forty Eight and Forty Nine of the book and carry out the lesson below...

Chapter Forty Nine finishes with ‘If’. What effect does that have at the end of a chapter? You now need to plan 'Part 2' of your story - this is told in the present tense and the 1st person.

Think about:

  • Main character survives the threat that you wrote about for 'Part 1'
  • Main character meets other characters - how do they help?
  • Characters carry out survival plan - what will the plan be?
  • Characters are rescued - how are they rescued?

Your LO for this is - Plan and write a longer narrative.

First News - login to the website below using the username and password provided in your pack...

This week's edition of the First News is on the school website for you to read too - use the link below to access the newspaper...

Foundation Subject Theme - in your new home learning pack you have a topic grid called 'Week 6 - Healthy bodies, Healthy Minds – Learning to look after myself and my world'. If you haven't picked up your new home learning pack, you can download Week 6 and 7 from the link below. Each afternoon, you can choose one of these activities to complete.

Hope that all makes sense.
