The Life Of Mr Pye

Our new teacher for this term is the fantastic, French-loving, world traveller Mr Pye! From when he was born, through the countries he has set foot in, to becoming our teacher, this biography is about Mr Pye's life.

Early Life

He was born in Southampton a number of years ago, with dreams of becoming an astronaut or a builder because he loved to fix things. He went to school in Hamble, where in Year 5, he studied his favourite subjects: Geography, because he wanted to learn about other countries and people, and also Science, where his favourite subject was Nature.

Education

When in secondary school, Mr Pye passed his GCSE and A levels successfully and studied Tropical Geography. He went travelling for some years and came back to University to learn Thai language. He then took teacher training courses after university.

Jobs

Mr Pye trained as a chef for the next few years in Hong Kong, where he learned to cook many delicious foods at a restaurant, before working at a secondary school in Maidstone as a Geography and Maths teacher. Then when he went travelling, he was a scuba diving instructor in Honduras.

Travelling

Mr Pye spent 3 years in Asia and loved Thailand because of all the amazing things they did. He learned how to count to 10 in Thai as he has already demonstrated. He worked in Hong Kong and learnt to dive. Mr Pye spent his last 8 years in Central America where he visited Honduras, Nicaragua and Mexico.

Now

He spent half the year in Mexico where he went cave diving and showed the people the beautiful underwater sea. He made maps by exploring the sea to guide the newcomers as they swam into the cave. The cave was called the Caterpillar because there was a truck called the Caterpillar and it was digging up stones. It fell into the hole as it moved so they call it the Caterpillar. Mr Pye spent the year relaxing on the beach before coming to us to tell us his stories and adventure.

Now you know all about Mr Pye! Everyone in our school is excited to hear the tales of his life.
