Ruthless Robert Falcon Scott

Robert Falcon Scott was a British Royal Navy Officer, who was born on 6th June 1868 in Plymouth. He led two expeditions, one in 1901 to 1904 which ,was called the Discovery Expedition and one in 1910 to 1912, which was called Terra Nova.

The Discovery expedition was so that Scott and his crew could be the first man to discover Antarctica, the expedition was both scientific and exploratory.

The Nova expedition was so that Scott could claim Antarctica for Britain, but a Norwegian explorer called Roald Amundsen had beaten him by five weeks. His cool crew were Henry Bowers, Edward Evans, Lawrence Oates, Edward Atkinson, Edward Wilson, Charles Wright, and Thomas Crean. Sadly,on the 16th February 1912 Edward Evans perished. Unfortunately, Lawrence Oates bravely stepped out into the blizzard; his foot had frostbite and he was slowing the team down. Worst of all, Scott died on the 29th March 1912 of starvation.
