CHRISTMAS TIME

On the 25th December we celebrate Christmas. Christmas represents the birth of Jesus and love, joy and peace.

We start preparing food, decorations and presents from early December. We put up the Christmas tree full of baubles from around the countries we visited with lots of Christmas lights, the crib and tinsel all around the house. My mum prepares her famous Christmas logs and cakes and the mince pies. The house starts to smell good and wintery. I always get presents for my mum, dad, sister, grandparents and all cousins.

Usually we go to a restaurant for Christmas but this year we stayed at my grandparents house. My mum, aunt and grandma prepared marvelous lunch. We had turkey with cranberry sauce and roasted vegetables and potato. For desert we had mama's specialty.

After lunch we played games like monopoly, checkers, pie face and speak out amongst other games. It is a tradition that we do Secret Santa, where we give presents and we need to guess from who. I always love the presents I receive. This year I got all of the Harry Potter books.

Despite all this, Christmas is not about food and presents, the most important thing is that we spend it together and show love to one another.
