Kathrine Parr

Kathrine Parr was a widow. She became queen of Ireland in 1543, once her husband died. A couple of years later, she moved to England. There, she met Henry VIII, the current king. Naturally, he was drawn to her slim body, red hair and fair skin, so a crowd gathered in a small chapel - during a plague - to watch the erratic king get married for a sixth time.

Katherine Parr is more of a matron than a wife. After a jousting incident, it caused Henry's body to swell with blisters and he wasn't able to move. Kathrine, being the kind wife that she was, treated his injuries with kindness.

But, there was a fault in sweet Kath's stars. She loved a young, rich man named Thomas Seymour, brother of Jane Seymour. Kath never intended to marry Henry, it just happened. How could she say no to a king? What would happen to her?

Unfortunately, Due to the sporting accident, Henry suffered. Everyone was upset. But most of all, they were astonished! Miss Katherine Parr has survived? A widow of three husbands?

Without irresolution, Kath went on to marry Thomas Seymour and had a lovely daughter named Mary. In 1548, she died of natural causes and was buried at Sudeley Castle.

Miss Katharine (Catherine, Katheryn) Parr is famous for being the sixth and last wife of Henry VII and writing her outstanding book that can stll be found today. She will be remembered by her grave in Sudeley.
