“SHH” whispered Rosie to the girls, who were cuddled up under the table next to the fire to keep warm. Emily and Lizzie had been hiding from the Lordship for days. They were terrified off getting caught by him because nobody knew that Rosie was keeping the street kids in the house. Later, when Lizzie and Emily were sleeping, Rosie got up to make herself some Rosie lea, she put the kettle on the fire to boil, then fell asleep. After a while, the kettle was bubbling and spitting and the noise woke Rosie up. She jumped up with a fright and grabbed the kettle then spilt it over Emily. Emily starting screaming her head off which woke up the whole house, including the Lordship. He angrily came flying down the stairs and saw the street children in his kitchen. “What’s going on down here?” bellowed the Lordship, “Who are these awful children?” “I’m sorry my Lord, they had nowhere to go and I was looking after them for my friend”. “Get your belongings and get out of my house,” he shouted, he was as cross as a dragon. Rosie, Emily and Lizzie found themselves walking the cobblestoned streets for days, they had nowhere to go or live. So they had no choice but to go the workhouse. Cautiously, they went to the workhouse. The work house was full of people working they looked so tired. They scrubbed the floors washed cloths cleaned windows it was horribly terrifying it looked as if they had not slept or eaten for days.
