I think it is summer because in summer the sky is blue, and the earth is green. Also it is sunny in summer. August is a summer season and that is when corns are harvested.

A Skylark is a smallbrown bird that is known for its beautiful singing.


3: What does the poet mean by the line ‘A skylark hang between the two’?

What the poet meant by the line ‘A skylark hang between the two’ is that the Skylark is creating a picture of the natural image of the sky and the earth together by using its singing between the two.


4: Why is the skylark like a speck?

The skylark is like a speck because when Skylark soars into the sky, it looks like a tiny shape, so this is why the poet included this simile.

White butterflies are being described as a stage.


6: What does the word ‘soars’ mean?

The word ‘soars’ means to rise very quickly to a high level. In this sentence - ‘And silent sank and soared to sing,’ it means that the Skylark singing increased quickly into a high note.
