Elm Class talks about Mental Health Day 2016

#letstalkaboutit

On Friday 30th September, Elm class participated in a mental health workshop focusing on the power of words. Elm class discussed how our words have the power to hurt, support and show love to others. Students recognised that they had the tools (their words) to support themselves and others and identified a range people who they thought they could talk to if they had any worries.

On Monday 3rd October, during KS2 Assembly, Elm class shared what they learnt from the workshop and explained how they hoped to spread the message of #letstalkaboutit by entering a digital art competition.

"Following our workshop on the power of talking, we decided to enter the 'Uplifting Image' digital art competition, for the NHS, called #letstalkaboutit. We decided that our photo would reflect the importance of talking and supporting one another in the community. We made paper-can telephones, that reflected our personality, and then linked them all together using string. We we then took the photo in the playground".
