For the challenge this week we ask that you send in a photo of a family celebration or tradition, such as a birthday or a religious festival. Please write on the post-it provided what the celebration or tradition is. Your child will then share these in a circle time with their friends.

Next week the children will begin to make our classroom advent calendar as it is fast approaching. We will be exploring our sense of smell with some aroma pots and we will be talking about why our sense of smell is so useful. In Foundation 2 we will be using the aroma pots to inspire our writing. The children will also hear ‘The Nose Book’ by Al Perkins. In Foundation 2 we will be learning about the traditions of Kwanza, Ramadan, Hanukah and Christmas and we will be talking about how we celebrate with our families and the food that we eat at these special times.

In Maths next week the children in Foundation 1 (Nursery) will be learning about positional language and using the words to play a game. The children in Foundation 2 (Reception) will be learning to describe and name 2D shapes as well as using objects to support doubling.

We will ofcourse be continuing to rehearse our nativity play. We would like to thank all the parents/carers/grandparents who have supported their children to learn their words so far. If your child is still learning them, please continue to support them.
