The Indian In the Cupboard

Dear Diary,

Today I am very exited because it is my birthday! I am with my friend Patrick at school and he gave me a second hand plastic Indian. I felt very disappointed but tried not to show it. I already have lots of figures all over the house and garden at home. I thanked Patrick and put the Indian in my pocket and tried to forget about it.

After school I had birthday tea with my family. I got a skateboard from Mum and Dad and a helmet from my older brother Adiel.

My other older brother Gillon got me a large gift in brown wrapping paper, which was very unusual because his pocket money was stopped some time ago.

I was exited as I opened it, inside. was a small white cupboard. I was very pleased with the cupboard because I like keeping things in them. My Mum let me find a key to lock the cupboard as it had a little keyhole. I found the perfect key and I shouted my Mum downstairs. She told me the key belonged to my grandmother who had left it to my Mum when she died. My Mum wore the key around her neck because the key had some red ribbon attached to it. Mum told me not to loose it. I did not know what to put in my cupboard so my brother Gillon suggested I put my nose drops in it. My Mum found the Indian figure in my trouser pockets so I put that in there. I closed and locked the door and went to sleep.
