It was thanks to the army that the Romans were able to conquer and protect their huge empire.The roman army was sucessful because they were better orginased than any other army.The army was divided into legions each 5500 men.Every legion had a nickname like victorous or lighting.Solider were proud to belong to their own legion.A roman solider was a real professional.He would serve in the legion n the legion for twenty five years living in barracks or in a fort with fellow soliders .He was always

practised every night.
