This week we are going to focus upon the famous author Roald Dahl who has written lots of children's books......

In school this half term we would have been reading the Roald Dahl book 'Esio Trot' If you google Esio Trot there is a full audiobook with the text - see below as to what you need to look out for (Sorry I can't get the link to work!) Listen to the story up to 2 mins 40.

How does Mr Hoppy feel about Mrs Silver? How do you know?

TASK: Write a letter to Mrs Silver as if you are Mr Hoppy. In the letter tell her how you feel about her and invite Mrs Silver for a cup of tea. Explain why you have never asked her before.

TASK: During the week, listen to the rest of the story. What does Mr Hoppy do to win the heart of Mrs Silver? Did you like the book?

TASK: Perhaps start reading another Roald Dahl book.

TASK: Complete the comprehension about Roald Dahl. There is an easy *, medium ** and harder *** comprehension so you choose.

TASK: Find out what you can about the author. Look at the powerpoint and click on the links below which will give you lots of information. You may need an adult to help you with this reading.

TASK: Produce a fact file about Roald Dahl. You can use one of the templates in the documents section or do your own. You might like to blog the information.

Quentin Blake drew the pictures for all of Roald Dahl's books. He is called an illustrator.

If you look at his drawings, he has a very particular style of drawing.

TASK: Have a go at drawing some of the illustrations in Esio Trot or in another of Roald

Dahl's books.
