Foundation 2

20.10.22

So, this week has been such an exciting week!

This week all of F2 made the staff so very proud. They performed Dingle Dangle Scarecrow in front of the whole school for our harvest assembly and they were absolutely amazing! The children also carved pumpkins and Miss Norton came in for a visit on Monday and left very impressed with all children in F2.

It was lovely to meet you all during parental constellations. If you have missed the time to see me, please do feel free to make another appointment, even if it is to have a chat on the phone about your child's progress this half term and I will try to get back to you as soon as I possibly can!

When we return, our topic will be senses and celebrations. We will be learning the phonemes; h, b f, l, during our first week back and in maths, we will be revising counting in sequence (forwards and backwards to 20), as well as learning to add 1 more to amounts from 0 to 20.

I am sending level 2 and 3 phonic actions home as we are very close to moving on to level 3 after half term. please practice the sounds and actions with your child. Your input really does make a huge difference.

Our Challenge

Over half term I ask you to discuss the celebrations ahead through their senses. You could choose Halloween, Guy Fawkes Night, Eid or Christmas. Can they describe what they will be likely see, hear, smell, touch and taste during theses celebrations? You only need to choose one! You could do this through visiting the library, internet, looking at texts related or interviewing members of the family about their experiences of these celebrations. They can present their findings by cutting out pictures, drawing, writing or even a research page from google, the choice is yours.
