The Westbourne Chronicle

On Thursday 22nd June, Westbourne was transformed into Westbourne International Airport for the day. After children had packed the necessary items for their trips, they wheeled (and in some cases dragged) their suitcases across the school to the check-in desk. There, they were greeted by helpful staff who allocated boarding passes and weighed luggage. Some strange items were found in the belongings including a sandwich toaster!

WESTBOURNE TAKES FLIGHT!

The cabin crew gave a brief safety talk and the plane ascended into the skies, taking its passengers to destinations such as Japan, Mexico, Kenya and even Australia! After a smooth landing, passports were checked and the tourists collected their luggage from the baggage claim area. Unfortunately a few children’s suitcases were lost for a short time but eventually their precious belongings were returned! It was wonderful day and all of the airline staff did a fantastic job of ensuring the flights were memorable and magical experiences. A special thank you needs to go to Captain Booth, the mastermind behind the whole experience, for organising such an unforgettable day.

With the heavy bags off their hands, children were sent to the security area to ensure they were not carrying any sharp objects. Before the flight, children read brochures about different countries and relaxed on comfortable beanbags. Once all of the travelers had been thoroughly checked, classes were escorted to the plane and seated for their flight. Some children were lucky enough to sit in First Class where they received a flute of squash and a chocolate biscuit!
