COMPOST

RECYCLING

_______________

A compost heap is one of the best things to use in food recycling, in my opinion that is. I'll introduce you to a compost heap and tell you how it works. A Green Joanna is a type of compost heap that you can put any food waste in you like. WARNING! Don't you dare put any tea bags, lemon peels or orange peels in a green Joanna, because it attracts a nasty insect called Fruit fly. Fruit fly are teeny tiny like Midges, they will lay up to 2.5k eggs on the tea, orange and lemon, that destroys all the fresh plants. The type of things you can put in a compost heap is:

Vegetable peelings, Grass cutting, Dead flowers and leaves. You can put in egg shells and potato peelings. Compost is made by worms, they chew everything together and then they poo it back out again!

Worms are very interesting animals, but I don't like them. They're all slimy and horrible. And the last thing is compost is excellent for feeding plants. Its got all the nutrients the plants like to nibble on.(I mean drink of course!) So that's compost for you! Goodbye from me and hello from the worms and compost heap!
