What Black History Month Means To Me

Black History Month is about remembering the very hard times that black people had to go through, around the world. Many of them got arrested or even killed, during these times, just because of the colour of their skin.

Martin Luther King Jnr delivered a famous speech during the 1963 Civil Rights March on Washington.

"I have a dream.....that all men are created equal."

Black History Month helps us all to remember to stand up and make his dream come true.

So let's celebrate all those who 'stood up'. From Jessie Owens to Rosa Parks, to Nelson Mandela,

right through to today's Colin Kaepernick and Nicola Adams.
