Today your work requires us to use our inference skills to look at Oliver Jeffers illustrations. Take a long look at the pictures (They are 2 separate pictures) and answer the questions below.

1. Can you relate to or empathise with the bear -why has he been drawn in this way?
2. What do you notice about the bears in the line up?
3. Why do you think the teddy is the only one without stick legs?
4. What is the impact of the shadows around the bears and how do they give emphasis to the polar bears attitude to brown bear?
5. What do you notice about the polar bear's body language and facial expression?
