GREAT FIRE OF GREENFORD

Guess what, my amazing school [Edward Betham] have suggested that the year 5's would get to burn houses that we make due to our topic [The Great Fire Of London]. The houses we have to make are houses that are supposed to look authentic and it is not allowed to be longer than your hand. Just then the spectacular day came when we have to burn our houses, wow. After break time my teacher [Mrs Tigg] managed to carry out 30 houses stuck on cardboard. As quick as a flash everyone ran across the playground to find out what was happening because of all of our great excitement. All of the year 5's were super exuberant to burn the houses wow.

After all the year groups had left to their classes we put the houses down and my teacher lit the houses and the super fun started amazingly! Grey smoke starts bellowing up into the air as small bright flames start to appear. The bright coloured flames turned more like fire and I could hear the crackling of the fire burning the houses down. I imagined how it would be in 1666, with the screaming and shouting and real houses being burnt down and even children in my age and younger would be suffering from losing their houses and unfortunately some of them die and the rich people would take their special treasures and burry them in the River Thames so no one would find them. The fire expanded and at the same time the fire changed colours. Suddenly the fire died down and turned completely into black pitch ashes and the fire was gone. I really appreciate what the year 5 teachers have done for us and I enjoyed learning about this topic [The Great Fire Of London] which is amazing.
