Our learning theme next week will be ‘Taking Care at Home.’
For the challenge this week we ask that you talk about the different dangers for your child around the home, such as hot items that could burn, tripping hazards etc. (Information for parents can be found at
www.capt.org.uk/safety-advice where you can search for common hazards related to your child’s age)
Most importantly please talk about how to stay safe for example, what your child needs to do if they see a danger. We will be looking at stories, playing games and using role play to extend your child’s learning.
The children will be introduced to the ‘Food Dudes’ programme, this begins on Monday. In cookery we will be making a healthy toasted sandwich as this will provide lots of discussion about safety in the kitchen, as well as promoting healthy eating. During Maths the children will be subtracting using a range of strategies and applying their skills to practical problems. Please talk about ‘taking away’ with your child to familiarise them with the concept and the language used.
