Retarius- Fought with a net, holding either a trident or a dagger and wore armour.

Secutos - Had a shield ,sword ,heavy helmet and armour on one arm.

Thrax - Armed with a curved sword and shield.

Spartacus came from Thrace (Modern day Bulgaria) but no one knows much about his early life. He became a slave and was sent

to a gladiator school near Capua in Italy , where he was trained to fight in gladiatorial games for the entertainment of bloodthirsty crowds. Sometimes this meant fighting to the death , so it's no wonder Spartacus wanted to escape.
