Once upon a time there lived a woman named Kati. One day she was doing the washing by a river and her ring fell into the water. She was very sad because it was her favourite ring.

In the river there was a big fish. It saw the ring. The fish was hungry and ate it whole.

Later that night her husband Hans went fishing. While he was fishing, he caught a big fish. He took it home. First his wife cleaned it, then she cooked it.

When they were eating the fish, Kati found the ring. Hans asked why it was in the fish's stomach. She said that it was a long story.
