Spider/tarantula

Spiders are not insects they are arachnida.They have two body parts and eight legs unlike insects, which have three body parts and six legs.

Most spiders are meet eaters.Some spiders spin webs to catch there prey

but others just pounce and jump.

A red kneed tarantula rears up to strike at its fangs. Tarantulas can be 30 cm 12 in across thats as big as a dinner plate.

A trapdoor spider puts silk tripwires around the entrance to its burrow.When prey touches one of the tripwires,the spider pounces on to it.

The bolus spider catches a moth by swinging a strand of silk with a sticky lump on the end at the moth.
