Hi William here and I am going to tell you about my school council trip.On Wednesday 12th of June 2019, me and the school council (from years 4 to 6) traveled to the Houses of Parliament. To get to the Houses of Parliament we needed to get the train to London Bridge and then the tube to Westminster. When we arrived at Westminster we walked to the Houses of Parliament where we were visited by a lady (who was our guide). First, we visited the Houses of Commons where most things are green and where Theresa May sits. On the ceiling, there were lots of tiny microphones and cameras hung from thin strips of string. The next room we went in was the Houses of Lords. Inside the Houses of Lords, almost everything was red. After that,we walked into a room where we were shown a PowerPoint called British Democracy. In that room, we had to match the description to past prime minister and I got all of them right! Just before lunch we were visited by our local member of Parliament. Once we'd finished our trip we had to rush to get the tube because it was raining and the streets were beginning to flood! We made it home without getting too wet and had a really fun and interesting day.
