A RIver has three stages.

1. The source. A rivers source is usually found in high places such as hills or mountians. A river can have more then one source.some times the source is at the head of the river.

2. Meanders. A meander is in the shape of an s. A meander hits the surface and creates an oxbow river.

3.The bottom stage.Here the water slows down and mud and sand flows over the surface.Then it goes into the ocean.
