Harvest and Scarecrows

What a great half term we have all had, the children have all come a very long way! This week we shared the story 'Pumpkin Soup' by Helen Cooper and we talked about the different jobs we all do. We explored and scraped inside a pumpkin which was very interesting to see all the seeds inside. We enjoyed singing the song 'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow' and finding out about the important job a scarecrow does. We particularly enjoyed playing in our role play which is set up as a Greengrocer shop and strengthened our fingers by using clothes pegs to make spikes on a hedgehog.

We talked about what Farmers do when they Harvest their crops and had fun picking the root vegetables from the Tuff spot that had been made into a vegetable patch. We also collected autumn objects and matched them to the correct number.

We would like to wish you a wonderful half-term break!
