World War 2

The London Blitz

In the first half-term we researched World War 2; We watched a film about life in London during the blitz and looked at a map of where the bombs fell in London and we found out that Laycock street was not bombed but many of the streets around Islington were.

This half-term we have been using Mine craft to learn about how it felt to be in the London blitz in 1940.

We built a London street, we split into groups and each group made a house. When we had finished the scaffolding was removed and we finished off our houses before World War 2 started...Personally I think doing the Mine craft thing was a complete waste of time and

the only thing we did was build and get our houses blown up, Their was a lot of commotion

and bullying and i just think we would've been better without.

But it was kind of good because we learnt a lot about how children and adults felt in ww2 when we lost

the houses we spent 6 weeks on,so it was kind of a hard sacrifice for us and the people in ww2 who had

to go to their Anderson shelters every night with a a chance of dying or getting your house blown up and all you could do was sit in the cold wet dark with your family and hope you live to see another day.
