The Vikings long ship facts

A big Viking long ship would be about 30 metres long and would hold 60 men. They made from oak wood joined together. All Viking boats were beautifully made. A funeral boat sped to afterlife.

A Viking ship had a large, squared sail made of woven wool, it was brightly coloured in stripes or diamond patterned. The Vikings built fast ships for raiding and war. Many brave Viking warriors died in war some were bought home for funerals.

The man buried in funeral was very rich. He had 3 other smaller ships in the burial mound as well
