Food in WW1

Home

Food in WW1 was a major thing. The British had 450 calories a day and the Germans

had 350 calories a day, however the Germans calories droped to 150 but they had more alchohol. Near the end of the

war the British had to live on tinned meat. To much of this could make a soldier sick! In WW1 if you had no food left

you would of got the rats and kill them to cook them in the fire and this process will make you sick in the trenches.

The British were very aware about food being such a major thing. They new this because of the war they won recently,

but it was very close and the reason why, was because Britan didn't have much food or calories. Then they realised

that a powerful army must be strong and well took care of.
