Vesuvius Volcano

Mount Vesuvius is in Italy. The towns near it are called Pompeii, Naples and Herculaneum. It was 1220 meters high.

It erupted in 24th August, AD 79.

Pompeii and Herculaneum disappeared under ash and lava .We know about it because a man called Pliny wrote about it when it erupted in AD 79.
